Whilst ELK’s DJ roots lay firmly in drum and bass and jungle, his tastes and inspirations reach from all corners of electronic music, pushing him to write music across a range of genres and styles. It’s this genre-fluidity that has landed his first solo release, Separation / Yamaji, in Plaza territory.

Despite having only been producing for under a year, his sound is a mature and forward-thinking one that is reflected in the immersive, pulsating bass and vocals of Separation, and the rave-ready, IDM-leaning Yamaji, both compiled with intricately textured breaks. These are sure to be the first of many dancefloor fillers to compliment ELK’s exponentially-growing production skillset.
