Brighton’s Rikki Van Berkel, known amongst the club scene as Drumwork, has established a name for himself with his ability to bring huge energy in his production and mixes through the channel of UK Funky, with a preference for intricate yet explosive percussive productions.

With his debut release on Plaza, he takes that energy into a different domain, by stripping back his usual style of bass-heavy, world-influenced bangers and instead drenching two tracks in stunning atmospherics and beautiful harmonic textures. Don’t Wait and The Rain fit perfectly into Plaza’s style of music for both the club and home-listening, without compromising on Drumwork’s percussive energy.

With DJ support from the likes of Skream and radio airplay on Rinse and Reprezent, it’s fair to say that Drumwork is one to watch, and this release is a testament to that.
